Hello

I’m Emma, an encaustic artist based in county Mayo in the west of Ireland.

 
Encaustic painting is a technique whereby I use melted beeswax mixed with coloured pigments.
I apply this mixture to a surface (my preference is wood) using brushes or other tools.
I then use heat, either a blow torch or a heat gun,  to fuse each layer of wax together,
the result is extremely vibrant and textured  artwork with a durable glossy finish.
